BUTTOCK AUGMENTATION PROCEDURE
Silicone implants are placed in the buttocks through an incision
between the buttock cheeks based on a calculation to give a youthful shape and
position to the buttocks. Keeping patient in general anesthesia, a two to three
inch incision is made between the buttocks in the midline through that incision
the buttock muscle also known as gluteus maximus is lifted up and a pocket is
made just large enough to plant the implant.
The opposite side is then completed. Both sides are
carefully examined in order to assure that the results look natural and
symmetric. Absorbable stitches are placed in the skin incision. A bandage is
placed that provides compression to the buttocks which in turn helps reduce
discomfort and swelling. After this 2 hours procedure, the person leaves the
surgical clinic within an hour or so.
Since the patient is uncomfortable for the first few days, it
is important that someone be with the patient at least overnight and probably
for the next several days just to help get out of bed, prepare meals, etc. Dressing
that is applied during surgery to provide compression and support is usually
removed two to three days following surgery. At this time the patient can take
showers and begin to move around more normally.
The results can be seen immediately but the buttocks look
more natural and become softer as the muscle stretches during the months after
surgery. When considering cosmetic surgery, check your surgeon's skills and
references. Buttock implants can be more dangerous and painful than fat
transfer, which is quite popular. At Ree Age, patients are getting treated by
eminent surgeons and they are very happy!
